Interesting Clocks from Wired
Whilst researching amazing mechanical devices I stumbled across a selection of interesting clocks and watched in Wired Magazine.
The first was this amazing watch by Vianney Halter and Jean-François Ruchonnet. The watch makes a feature of a very old design idea, the chain and fusee which allows the tension to remain constant as the spring unwinds.
Wil Van Den Bos from the Netherlands invented these next two clocks. Like many dutch artists and designers he has an alternative outlook on life. He’s turned these clocks inside out and with his gear clock has even changed the idea of the hands moving and moves the numbers instead.
