Workshop shed of the year 2010
The category winners for shed of the year 2010 have just been announced. Of course the one I’m interested in is the workshop category.
Junkaholic’s weaving + sewing shed from Artemis Russel in South East London won the readers votes.
On initial appearances the shed looks clinically clean but when you realise what Artemis makes in there it makes sense. The shed is used for weaving, sewing, knitting and even a bit of re-upholstering so cleanliness is essential to protect the end products. The shelves and hooks hold useful tools such as scissors and bobbins of yarn and a collection of old boxes stores the smaller items.
The light paint and large window means that there is lots of natural light for working. Power is provided for the sewing machine and desk lamp.
