André Wallace – Metal Sculptures

I saw André Wallace‘s latest sculpture in the papers, a 6 foot tall roller scater in Pimlico.

Roller Girl

This got me thinking about what other works he might have done. André has been involved in art since the 1970s and got into large outdoor pieces back in the 80s. Here’s just a few of his pieces, others can be seen in the Tate and around the UK.

Just down the road in Pimlico gardens, there is “The Navigator“.

The pieces are mostly figurative and with a recuring theme of nautical figures. The boat man in Chepstow and floating for example along with another Navigators work.

Guarding the entrance to Newcastle from the sea is the River God.

Finally his Whisper made it’s home in Milton Keynes.
