The Workshopshed is dead, long live the Workshopshed

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times- Charles Dickens

This is my last post from the original Workshopshed. All the tools and materials are boxed up, ready for a move to Scotland. Over the last 13 years, I’ve spent many happy days in the shed and it’s allowed me to create some amazing projects and to repair many things from around the house and garden. I’ve also spent many hours repairing and upgrading the shed itself with things such as the power, new roof and many coats of paint. And finally, I built the benches and drawers that will be remaining once I’ve gone. So it is a little sad to leave.

The origional Workshopshed full of things in boxes

However, I am going to be moving the workshop to a double garage so there are many advantages. The building is brick-built, has heating and a tiled roof to protect from the Scottish weather. There’s a smooth floor and strong beams so moving equipment around should be easy. I’ll have plenty of space to work but will need to invest some time into buying or building storage and benches to work. So as mentioned my initial project will likely be focused around that.

Also, I don’t just see the Workshopshed just as a place. It is the blog too and to some extent my way of making and repairing.

To be continued…

Good luck with the move. A heated workshop? Luxury! :-)
