Model Engineer Exhibition 2012
This year’s Model Engineer Exhibition is earlier than previous years and is the first weekend in November at Sandown Park. Apparently this is something to do with the Olympics but I can’t quite work that one out.
As per usual there will be a lot to see, there will be over 100 models at the show including some impressive stationary engines and a selection of part finished models which will be good to show you how they are made. Also exhibiting are some of Harold Hall’s workshop tools such as the miniature boring head and dividing head. On a larger scale there should be the “Oriana”, a traction engine running outside the exhibition and possibly around Esher too.
There will be club displays, lectures and demonstrations from the SMEE and lots of trade stands. If you are looking for something in particular it’s worth contacting the suppliers in advance so they can bring them along. You can save a fortune on postage if you are buying heavy items.
