Medal inspired by valve technology
It’s that time of year when I make a medal for the Alumni of the Student Television of Imperial College. This year’s theme was “something analogue” so I took inspiration from valve technology in my design.
The outer ring was 3D printed and then painted gold. The mesh is just some steel mesh (which you might recognise from the MING Pi project, this was sprayed black. And the lettering is copper wire that is cut and bent to shape before being glued in place with superglue.
The guys suggested I submitted my own entry remotely so I found some analogue components from the Surprise Makers Parcel and made a quick video about them.
It wasn’t a winning entry this year, that went to Kevin who demonstrated an analogue synthesiser.
