Masters of Reinvention
In the spring of last year, I chatted to a TV producer about upcycling and inventing. I heard no more about this until yesterday when Ruth Amos, inventor extrodinare, mentioned a new show on her Instagram feed.
The show “Masters of Reinvention” can be seen today on the Yesterday channel, showing and streaming from 8pm.
Chief reinventor is Dr Shini Somara, a mechanical engineer and expert in fluid dynamics. She’s joined by Ruth and a team described as “engineers, crafters and gadgeteers” to rebuild and upgrade old inventions from the Practical Mechanics of the early 1900s.
The team build a wide variety of inventions from burglar alarms to air raid shelters as well as a number of different vehicles. And it looks like they’ve assembled a great team to work o these projects. I’m looking forward to tuning in.
